The Valerius Protocol
Synopsis
Maren is a smuggler who has infiltrated the frozen Valerius Sanatorium as a nurse with a single mission: steal the Cartel's secret data. What she finds is far worse than any job she's taken. Silver Tisis is a synthetic pathology that transforms biological tissue into metallic filaments and frozen crystals, consuming the body from within. In the cryogenic containment ward, she encounters Patient 04 โ Silas โ a young man whose metabolic anomaly generates an absolute cold that slows the crystallization. To survive the infection she has contracted, Maren forges a desperate clandestine pact with Silas: transfusions of his entropic blood in exchange for deactivating the seven mechanical seals that keep the sanatorium locked. It is a race against time, against disease, and against the suspicion of the Chief Medical Officer โ the only man who knows Valerius's true secret.

Editor's Corner: Reading Guide
1Who It's For (Precise Target)
For readers who crave high-tension dystopian thrillers with medical and scientific elements, fans of survival stories with mutual dependency dynamics and morally ambiguous characters.
2What Makes It Unique (The Distinctive Element)
Silver Tisis as a living metaphor: a disease that is simultaneously physical, biological, and political. The pact between Maren and Silas subverts traditional power dynamics โ who saves whom? โ in a narrative where bodies themselves become the currency of survival.
3The "Heart" of the Book (What It Leaves You)
A desperate pact between two strangers united by disease, the discovery that the true enemy lies not within the sanatorium walls but in the corridors of power, and the birth of a trust as fragile as ice.
4Style and Tone (Managing Expectations)
Clinical and sensorial prose, suffocating pace. Precise anatomical descriptions alternated with moments of emotional brutality. Temperature and biological parameters as narrative metaphors. Cold, raw tone with flashes of visceral humanity.
